INTRODUCTION

Paraguayan Night is an evening focused on Paraguay. You will taste authentic Paraguayan food, listen to its music, learn about the country and its opportunities, and connect with prominent expats, businessmen, and diplomats.

FOOD

The cuisine of Paraguay is the set of dishes and culinary techniques of Paraguay. It has a marked influence of the Guaraní people combined with the Spanish cuisine and other marked influences coming from the immigration received by bordering countries such as Italian cuisine and German cuisine. Asunción is the epicenter of the distinctive gastronomy that extends into current Paraguay and its areas of influence, which is why it is considered the mother of the gastronomy of the Río de la Plata.

You will be able to taste several dishes of traditional Paraguayan cuisine created by the expert staff at Nova Rajngla restaurant. 

MUSIC

The folkloric traditional music of Paraguay is the Paraguayan polka and the Guarania. The Paraguayan polka comes from polka of Czech origin; which was danced for the first time in Asunción, on November 27, 1858. The guarania was created by the Paraguayan musician José Asunción Flores, in January 1925, after experiencing different arrangements with the old Paraguayan musical theme "Ma'erãpa reikuaase".  Folk music uses a range of different instruments some of which include the Spanish guitar and the European harp.

Students of the local music school will perform works from renowned Paraguayan artists, giving the experience an extra layer of authenticity. 

GUEST SPEAKER

Mr. Čadonič is the director of InnTe Technologies, a company developing new water treatment technologies and procedures. His scientific work has led to new water treatment breakthroughs that improve existing capabilities and solve previously impossible problems such as nitrate removal from drinking water. His company has successfully made its first steps into the Paraguayan market, hoping to solve existing water problems, improve access to drinking water for millions, and unlock economic growth by enabling access to previously non-viable drinking water sources.

LOCATION

Nova Rajngla restaurant is positioned next to a picturesque pond in Braslovče. It creates high-quality dishes using local ingredients and providers. The restaurant's Chef and his team create traditional and modern dishes taking into account the region’s rich history and its connection to fishing and farming. This time they will challenge themselves by “traveling” halfway across the world and recreating traditional Paraguayan dishes in the heart of Savinjska Valley. 

PRICES AND PAYMENT

The main menu cost is 55 EUR while the menu with the wine accompaniment costs 70 EUR.
